free coffee at Starbucks when you tell them you've voted,
a free star-shaped donut at Krispy Kreme with your "I Voted" sticker,
and free ice cream at Ben and Jerry's just by walking in and being human.
Oh, and a new president.

First night at the Obama office last night for me, and I wish I'd spent some more time there. SO MUCH ENERGY, and it was great clapping for people as they came through the door with their ballots (we vote by mail up here in OR). I walked a bunch of neighborhoods, although I feel like making phone calls might be more important, right now. The local organizer is great: a youngish guy named Oren who looks exhausted but still's got a huge smile. Two days to go!
Calling now is fun because you get to talk to people who say things like, "I can't talk to you right now, I am on my way to the Emergency Room!"
