Day at the DeYoung

First, apologies for the awkward formatting. Today I went to the DeYoung museum in Golden Gate Park. The new exhibit there is photography by Hiroshi Sugimoto, a Japanese artist. Some of the stuff was not my taste, but he did some very cool photos of famous buildings where he set the focal point to "twice infinity" (curious) so they were blurry but recognizable. He also shot movie screens (at drive-ins and beautiful theatres) where he kept the shutter open during the entire movie. I've included examples here.

The DeYoung museum has this tower that is 9 stories and there is a panopticon that gives you a great view of the city! We had no view of the GG Bridge but we did watch the fog roll in. That was spectacular. If you are visiting the city, this is a "must do" and entrance to the tower is free.
