This is the courthouse in downtown Santa Barbara. There's a tower that's open until 4:45 or so and you can go up to the top (four stories) and get this lovely view of the city. Santa Barbara has strict guidelines about how one can build so it remains beautiful while many other town have been taken over by strip malls and high rises and other things that can make a town a bit ugly.
